why missions? Why you should be concerned about missions
Do you know about 3 billion people in the world have yet to hear the gospel? Yes, that’s how much work we still have to do about spreading the gospel.
Do you also know that there are people who left the comfort of their home country—everything to obey the call to the mission field? They are giving their all for the sake of the gospel, yet are facing isolation, lack of resources, and other difficulties that are making it hard for them to continue.
More reasons you should be concerned about missions:
To win more people to Christ, depopulating hell
This is the utmost desire of Jesus—to draw All men to himself. And if this will be fulfilled, you must be a part of it either by going or supporting those who go.
To help missionaries fulfill their calling
The obedience of one man can alter another man's life permanently, though indirectly. Just imagine if the Great Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke of blessed memory decided to sit back and not obey God's call to preach. Imagine the number of people who would still be in darkness having not heard the gospel.
To hasten the coming of Jesus
Jesus said: And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. —Matthew 24:14
